Are we humans??

The residents of Pulau Ketam sent some 300 stray dogs to exile on a remote island where the harsh conditions almost certainly guarantee a horrible death. Of the 300 dogs sent there, more than three-quarters are presumed to be already dead. I traveled to the island with Sabrina Yeap of Furry Friends Farm and managed to save only one dog on this reconnaissance trip. We did see several other starving and dying dogs along the mangrove shore.

I am mounting an urgent rescue mission to capture and transport the remaining survivors back to Sabrina's Furry Friends Farm animal shelter. But time is running out and there might be only skeletons and carcasses left to collect on our next trip. Boat hire is expensive there. It is a tourist area and it has already cost me a few hundred ringgit for boat hire alone, so far. The rescued dogs cannot be transported on the regular ferries.

Almost nobody will lift a finger to help without a fee. This is understandable. The locals are already shaking their heads in disbelief that there are outsiders who want to save the animals they so casually discarded. Instead of pointing fingers and antagonising them, we need their co-operation to help save the unfortunate creatures. In the process, we also hope to educate the islanders on better treatment of animals. It would be an impossible mission if we didn't win their hearts.

If you are unable to help directly, please help by forwarding this appeal to other compassionate folks who you feel might be able to make some monetary contributions.

Apart from boat hire, we need money to buy cages, to pay people to help catch them, to hire land transport to send the rescued animals to veterinary clinics, pay for vet fees, send the recovered ones to the shelter and to feed and house them for life. I can go on!

To donate or help, e-mail TV Smith at tvsmith@mycen.com.my or Sabrina Yeap at yeapwen@yahoo.com

Fellow bloggers, you can also help by embedding the appeal poster above to your blog and linking to (this page)

We are aware it is a monumental task and appreciate all forms of support, assistance, suggestions, encouragement and your prayers.

Thank you and don't forget to view the pictures of the dogs in order to appreciate their plight.

11 Step program for pre-parents

this post are specially for my friends whose about to get their babies preetty soon..but to the ones who jez got their's, gud luck!!...a baby is a god given gift!!!

Thinking of Having Kids? Do this 11 step program first!

Lesson 1
1. Go to the grocery store.
2. Arrange to have your salary paid directly to their head office.
3. Go home.
4. Pick up the newspaper.
5. Read it for the last time.

Lesson 2
Before you finally go ahead and have children, find a couple who already are parents and be rate them about their:
1. Methods of discipline.
2. Lack of patience.
3. Appallingly low tolerance levels.
4. Allowing their children to run wild.
5. Suggest ways in which they might improve their child's breast feeding, sleep habits, toilet training, table manners, and overall behaviour.

Enjoy it because it will be the last time in your life you will have all the answers.

Lesson 3
A really good way to discover how the nights might feel:
1. Get home from work and immediately begin walking around the living room from 5PM to 10PM carrying a wet bag weighing approximately 8-12 pounds, with a radio turned to static (or some other obnoxious sound) playing loudly. (Eat cold food with one hand for dinner)
2. At 10PM, put the bag gently down, set the alarm for midnight, and go to sleep.
3. Get up at 12 and walk around the living room again, with the bag, until 1AM.
4. Set the alarm for 3AM.
5. As you can't get back to sleep, get up at 2AM and make a drink and watch an infomercial.
6. Go to bed at 2:45AM.
7. Get up at 3AM when the alarm goes off.
8. Sing songs quietly in the dark until 4AM.
9. Get up. Make breakfast. Get ready for work and go to work (work hard and be productive)

Repeat steps 1-9 each night. Keep this up for 3-5 years. Look cheerful and together.

Lesson 4
Can you stand the mess children make? To find out:
1. Smear peanut butter onto the sofa and jam onto the curtains.
2. Hide a piece of raw chicken behind the stereo and leave it there all summer.
3. Stick your fingers in the flower bed.
4. Then rub them on the clean walls.
5. Take your favorite book, photo album, etc. Wreck it.
6. Spill milk on your new pillows. Cover the stains with crayons. How does that look?

Lesson 5
Dressing small children is not as easy as it seems.
1. Buy an octopus and a small bag made out of loose mesh.
2. Attempt to put the octopus into the bag so that none of the arms hang out.

Time allowed for this all morning.

Lesson 6
Forget the BMW and buy a mini-van. And don't think that you can leave it out in the driveway spotless and shining. Family cars don't look like that.
1. Buy a chocolate ice cream cone and put it in the glove compartment. Leave it there.
2. Get a dime. Stick it in the CD player.
3. Take a family size package of chocolate cookies. Mash them into the back seat. Sprinkle cheerios all over the floor, then smash them with your foot.
4. Run a garden rake along both sides of the car.

Lesson 7
1. Go to the local grocery store. Take with you a full-grown goat is an excellent choice
2. If you intend to have more than one child, then definitely take more than one goat.
3. Buy your week's groceries without letting the goats out of your sight.
4. Pay for everything the goat eats or destroys.

Until you can easily accomplish this, do not even contemplate having children.

Lesson 8
1. Hollow out a melon.
2. Make a small hole in the side.
3. Suspend it from the ceiling and swing it from side to side.
4. Now get a bowl of soggy Cheerios and attempt to spoon them into the swaying melon by pretending to be an airplane.
5. Continue until half the Cheerios are gone.
6. Tip half into your lap. The other half, just throw up in the air.

You are now ready to feed a nine- month-old baby.

Lesson 9
1. Learn the names of every character from , Barney, Disney, the Teletubbies and Pokemon.
2. Watch nothing else on TV but PBS, the Disney channel or Noggin for at least five years.

I know, you're thinking What's 'Noggin'? Exactly the point.

Lesson 10
1. Make a recording of Fran Drescher saying 'mommy' repeatedly. (Important: no more than a four second delay between each 'mommy'; occasional crescendo to the level of a supersonic jet is required).
2. Play this tape in your car everywhere you go for the next four years.

You are now ready to take a long trip with a toddler.

Lesson 11
1. Start talking to an adult of your choice.
2. Have someone else continually tugon your skirt hem, shirt- sleeve, or elbow while playing the 'mommy' tape made from Lesson 10 above.

You are now ready to have a conversation with an adult while there is a child in the room.

This is all very tongue in cheek; anyone who is parent will say 'it's all worth it!' Share it with your friends, both those who do and don't have kids. I guarantee they'll get a chuckle out of it. Remember, a sense of humour is one of the most important things you need as a parent!

8 Days and counting..

Its been a while since i'm able to blog..bukan takmo, but my power to handle the internet proxy is not there...so terima jerk la...they suddenly block mostly everything...including GOOGLE!!!... bodoh betul la...penakut!!or the IT team nie tak adventurous kot...

i still remember i was so eager to reach my feet to bumi Kuching once again...the last time i was here was last year...its a family vacation for 4 days...i can still remember it...but this time, was another trip, and another purpose...WORK!!

haiya,...on the 7th April, i took the ERL from KL Sentral to KLIA. My flight was at 1400 using MH2596. It took me approximately 20-30 minutes to reach KLIA. I didn't even realized i was there coz i was busy reading Macheda in the papers...hail Kiko!!!

after checking in for my tickets, i went to have my branch coz i wasn't expecting a great lunch on flight. I ate around 12.30 pm at the cafeteria in level 2. After that i suddenly had the crave of Snikers bar.. hmm i donno why...i was searching here and there for it and i couldn't find any..i was kinda dissapointed. I don't want to replace it with Mars.. so i decided to go straight to the waiting bay.. While walking there, i saw this grocery shop. There it was...SNICKERS!!!! but the price was RM 4.30.. wow!! mahal nyer!!..nevermind, i follow my stomach this time..

at around 2:15pm, the plane was departuring.. i reached kuching at around 3:50pm

After that, i immediately called my colleague from the bank to take the cab together since we are staying at the same hotel. It cost us rm 22 for one way from the airport to the hotel. Hotel Grand Magherita, along the Kuching Waterfront..After checking in..i realized that i'm staying alone in that big room..yeay!!!

After resting for about 30 minutes, we (about 4 people) crossed over the river to have our dinner. We ate ikan siakap bakar, nasi ayam penyek, mee kolok..After the dinner, we went straight to the Bank coz our work starts at 7:00pm

after that...at around 4:30 am we finished our work and we went straight to the hotel for our rest.

the next morning (8/04/09), my bos fly in from Singapore. Around 11am i was already there at the bank...doing nothing!!! what a waste of time!!!..in the evening we went for our dinner again across the river..but this time..we ate a lot

ketam, ikan siakap, ikan kerapu, sotong, tomyam, telur dadar, sayur midin belacan..

the next day (9/04/09), its the big day...exactly at 7:00pm we started our work..migration of the new Virtual Call Center servers for R** Bank in Jalan Kulas...

I started my task at about 10 pm. at 11:30pm, the host at Bangi was ready for 30 minutes...and we did all the test needed.. Yeay!! everything ran smoothly...i was very happy!!!

I took the early shift and my bos went back to the hotel. We decided to watch Transporter 3 using the projector inside the lounge just to waste our time.. at around 11am i went back to the hotel to have my rest after my bos came in for the next shift.

i immediately felt asleep after reaching the bed..

10/4/09- at around 5pm, i got a call from my bos stating that the server is having a problem..SHIT!!!...but at that time, i couldn't be bothered as i was totally tired and i know he is on site to solve it..

around 7:45pm we went for dinner sponsored by the branch manager.. Again we ate ikan kerapu, midin belacan, udang galah, ketam, tomyam...huhu

11/4/09 - the server is down again...SHIT!!!

12/4/09 - my flight was postponed to unknown date. I extended my stay till the next day.. Problem still not solved..

13/4/09 - my flight was again postponed.. Again i extended my stay.. but this time, i managed to do some investigation, and found out that there is a virus attacking the server, resulting the server to have a downtime every 12 hours..

14/4/09 - my flight was again postponed...again i extended my stay..

Remarks

I was banged by those stupid buggers from the project managers from the bank...They couldn't accept in the first place when i told them that there is something fishy in their firewall...they kept on denying it..budak kecik nie mana tau apa...sekarang..when the shit pointed back to them...still no answer from their side...bloody hell!!!

hey, if you dont know technical stuffs in the first place..dont even dare to argue laa....and the most important thing is ...DONT EVEN MANAGE LA!!!!!

p/s: now i'm not so eager to stay here in Kuching... Aku nak balik!!!!!!

Reaching the stars??

Yesterday was my birthday...i clock'd quarter abad ( abad = english ??) ...i'm feeling older...i can still remember the days when i said.."dah 25 kau nie...tua nyer"...yikes, now it strikes me ....

I spent the day with her...yeah...usually i'll be spending my time with my family, but this time i'm spending my time with her...

While at work in Menara AA (besides Menara Time in Jln Tun Razak) struggling to finish the IVR server migration, around 2.45pm i got a call from an unknown id.. " Encik, boleh buka pintu depan nie tak? Saya ada kat tingkat 6, nak hantar barang untuk encik".. i was like...What??

To my surprise, it was a basket of flowers, a cute monkey, and a box of chocolate...stated there "From your one & only"...so sweet... yikes!!

i quickly called her up to say thanks for the gift...

After work, i picked her up at Station Putra Komuter and head straight to Pavillion for our dinner...

We had dinner at TGI Friday's Pavillion.. We had Parmesan-Crusted Chicken Quesadilla for starters

and i had Sizzling Chicken and Shrimp while she had Jack Daniel's® Burger

We took a few pix (actually a lot) (i'll upload it later when i'm able to have proper internet access without all the firewall blockings)....

then comes the finale, the cake!!!

well, first there was the cake treat from TGI (thanx a lot, even though i had to stand on the stool n gave my speech)...it was a cheese cake...i even had to blew the candle from far...

then, we took a few pix of ourselves...before taking the picture of the lovely cake....

it was a cake courtesy of Bloomingcake ( Cake sponsors for most of the top artist in Malaysia)...somehow i felt like i'm an artist...hihi

it was a Paintball Mask designed cake...i'm not sure which brand it was, but it was a paintball mask cake!!!

If anyone would like a custom made cake to their likings, you can ask me..i'll get you through the owner himself...

Happy 25th Birthday Nadzmi....

Who Authored the Quran?

Who authored the Quran? Someone must have produced it! After all, how many desert men have stood up in the history of man and given the world a book like the Quran? The book has amazing details of past nations, prophets, and religions as well as accurate scientific information unavailable at the time. What was the source of all this? If we were to deny the divine origin of the Quran, we are left with only a few possibilities:

- The Prophet Muhammad authored it himself.

- He took it from someone else. In this case, he either took it from a Jew or a Christian or one of the foreigners in Arabia. The Meccans did not bother to accuse him of having taken it from one of them.

A brief response from God is:

“And they say, ‘Legends of the former peoples which he has written down, and they are dictated to him morning and afternoon.’ Say, [O Muhammad], ‘It has been revealed by He who knows [every] secret within the heavens and the earth. Indeed, He is ever Forgiving and Merciful.’” (Quran 25:5-6)

It was well known to his detractors that Muhammad, who was raised among them, never learned how to read or write from the time of his birth. They knew whom he befriended and where he had traveled; they acknowledged his integrity and honesty by calling him ‘Al-Ameen,’ the Reliable, the Trustworthy, the Honest.[1] Only in their revulsion against his preaching did they accuse him – and then it was anything they could dream up: He was accused of being a sorcerer, a poet and even an imposter! They could not make up their minds. God says:

“Look how they strike for you comparisons; but they have strayed, so they cannot [find] a way.” (Quran 17:47)

Simply, God is aware of what is in the heavens and the earth, He knows the past and the present, and reveals the truth to His prophet.
Could Muhammad Have Authored It?

It is impossible that Muhammad could have authored the Quran due to the following reasons:

First, several occasions presented themselves where he could have fabricated revelation. For example, after the first revelation came, people awaited to hear more, but the Prophet did not receive anything new for months. The Meccans began making fun of him, ‘His Lord has abandoned him!’ This continued until the 93rd chapter, Ad-Doha, was revealed. The Prophet could have compiled something and presented it as the latest revelation to end the mockery, but he did not. Also, at one point during his prophethood, some of the hypocrites accused his beloved wife Aisha of being unchaste. The Prophet could have easily fabricated something to free her of blame, but he waited for many excruciating days, all spent in pain, mockery, and anguish, until revelation came from God freeing her from the accusation.

Second, there is internal evidence within the Quran that Muhammad was not its author. Several verses criticized him, and were on occasion strongly worded. How can an imposter prophet blame himself when it may run him into the danger of losing the respect, perhaps following, of his followers? Here are some examples:

“O Prophet! Why do you prohibit [yourself from] what God has made lawful for you, seeking the approval of your wives? And God is Forgiving and Merciful.” (Quran 66:1)

“…while you concealed within yourself that which God is to disclose and you feared the people, while God has more right that you fear Him..” (Quran 33:43)

“It is not for the Prophet and those who have believed to ask forgiveness for the polytheists, even if they were relatives, after it has become clear to them that they are companions of Hellfire.” (Quran 9:113)

“But as for he who came to you striving [for knowledge] while he fears [God], from him you are distracted. No! Indeed, they [these verses] are a reminder.” (Quran 80:8-11)

If he were to hide anything, he would have hid these verses, but he recited them faithfully.

“And he [Muhammad] is not a withholder of [knowledge of] the unseen. And it [the Quran] is not the word of a devil, expelled [from the heavens]. So where are you going? It is nothing but a reminder to the worlds.” (Quran 81:24-27)

The Prophet is cautioned, perhaps warned, in the following verses:

“Indeed, We have revealed to you, [O Muhammad], the Book in truth so you may judge between the people by that which God has shown you. And do not be an advocate for the deceitful. And seek forgiveness of God. Indeed, God is ever Forgiving and Merciful. And do not argue on behalf of those who deceive themselves. Indeed, God loves not the one who is a habitually sinful deceiver. They conceal [their evil intentions and deeds] from the people, but they cannot conceal [them] from God, and He is with them [in His knowledge] when they spend the night in such as He does not accept of speech. And God ever is encompassing of what they do,. Here you are – those who argue on their behalf in [this] worldly life – but who will argue with God for them on the Day of Resurrection, or who will [then] be their representative? And whoever does a wrong or wrongs himself but then seeks forgiveness of God will find God Forgiving and Merciful. And whoever earns [i.e., commits] a sin only earns it against himself. And God is ever Knowing and Wise. But whoever earns an offense or a sin and then blames it on an innocent [person] has taken upon himself slander and manifest sin. And if it was not for the favor of God upon you, [O Muhammad], and His mercy, a group of them would have determined to mislead you. But they do not mislead except themselves, and they will not harm you at all. And God has revealed to you the Book and wisdom and has taught you that which you did not know. And ever has the favor of God upon you been great.” (Quran 4:105-113)

These verses explain a situation in which a man from the Muslim inhabitants of Medina stole a piece of armor and hid it in the property of his Jewish neighbor. When the owners of the armor caught up with him he denied any wrongdoing, and the armor was discovered with the Jewish man. He, however, pointed to his Muslim neighbor, also denying his involvement in the crime. The people from the Muslim’s tribe went to the Prophet to plead on his behalf, and the Prophet began to incline towards them till the above verses were revealed clearing the Jewish man of wrongdoing. All this despite the Jew’s rejection of Muhammad’s prophethood! The verses instructed Prophet Muhammad himself not to side with the deceitful! The verses:

“…and do not be an advocate for the deceitful and seek forgiveness of God…and if it was not for the favor of God upon you, [O Muhammad], and His mercy, a group of them would have determined to mislead you.”

If Muhammad himself authored the Quran, thus being a lying imposter, he would have made sure that there was nothing in existence which could jeopardize the gaining of followers and supporters. The fact that the Quran, on various occasions, reprimands the Prophet in certain issues in which he had made in incorrect judgment is in itself a proof that it was not authored by him.
